Parkhurst Blinds is a consultant-led, made-to-measure window shading service for Parkhurst and the streets around it. There is no showroom theatre and no ready-made compromise: a consultant measures your windows in your own light, recommends honestly, and our installation team fits everything cleanly and adjusts it on site.

Why we specialise in this pocket of Johannesburg

Because the houses here ask a specific question. A Parkhurst home is usually two buildings pretending to be one — a small 1940s cottage at the street and a modern, heavily glazed room at the back. The front wants slim, quiet blinds that respect original steel casements and narrow reveals. The back wants shading that works outside the glass before anything inside can help. Sell one solution for both and you get a house that is either over-dressed at the front or still hot at the back.

How we work

• We measure everything individually. Two openings that look identical in a 1940s cottage almost never are.
• We quote in writing, itemised per window. You can keep, cut or phase any line of it without renegotiating the whole job.
• We say when the cheaper option is fine. Not every window needs the premium fabric, and we would rather keep the relationship than win the line item.
• We fit child-safe controls as standard on anything corded or chained, and show cordless and motorised options wherever children use the room.
• We repair as happily as we replace. A restring is often the right answer, and we will tell you when it is.

That list is the whole range, and we would rather tell you something falls outside it than talk you into the nearest thing we happen to make. Our roller shutters are shading shutters — sun, heat, glare and privacy control on the outside of the glass. They are not security-rated shutters; that is a different product, available on request.
